“I hadn’t filled out the online paperwork because typically when i go to a new doctor or dental office i still end up having to fill out physical paperwork which is an annoying waste of time…but the online version was the only version and I was thankful for that! My hygienist was friendly and easy to talk to. The dentist was very quick but I have great oral hygiene so I wasn’t too surprised. Her energy is intense. I didn’t love the constant “nails on a chalkboard” sound when cleaning my gum-line. I’ve never experienced that sound before but it went by fast so no harm done. Will be back.”

“After a terrible experience at my previous dentist, I had been dreading going to my next dentist appt. My first visit to Alki Dental was such a smooth experience—from scheduling, to staff interactions, and the new patient/cleaning processes. The dentist was personable and kind while still being very thorough, providing useful tips to be more effective. Plus, their location is a nice excuse for a walk on Alki after your appointment. I recommend!”

“Haven’t been to the dentist in years, moved to Seattle, my friend recommended them saying “they are so good and sweet and caring and attentive etc” which is very important for her… I got there, they are INCREDIBLY nice and attentive, they said everything was good with my teeth, no issues. I directed them to a problem molar I have, always hurts when I get head colds, prone to faster enamel degradation, etc. they said it looked fine but took another look at a crevice I pointed them to and found residue of a previous seal I had to fight the last dentist tooth and nail to put in. This dentist didn’t fight me, said it wasn’t necessary but if I wanted she could remove the residue and replace the seal. No fight, just letting me know her opinion, why she had that opinion, and what she could do for me. I said yes please, though I hate drilling. Came in a few weeks later/today, she did it as requested, and informed me that after she removed the residue of the last seal which I had to fight to get in from my last dentist, she found a hidden cavity that was growing from the bottom of the tooth towards the gum underneath the previous seal, and they got it all taken care of. Obviously they could not be expected to find it on the initial examination if it was a hole growing deeper rather than wider and it was covered by my previous dentists sealing remains, but she ended up finding it because she talked to me, listened to me, and and operated on the assumption that if someone says there is a problem it should be addressed (which should be common sense because who the heck wants to go to the dentist for unnecessary work?) rather than the previous “I am the dentist and I know better than you” approach I have received in the past. If she had not listened to me and just dismissed my concerns like previous dentists have done, I would have a continuously growing cavity that could have escalated into something more extreme. Will keep coming back here even if I have to go out of my way to do it, definitely recommend them. She also did all this work in like 30 minutes which was crazy to me- when my friend had her work done she also commented they work incredibly fast, which I assume speaks to confidence which I assume speaks to skill/experience/practice. Plus my last dentist slightly broke my jaw when removing my wisdom teeth, and this dentist did NOT break my jaw at alki dental. Which I appreciate. I’m not a big fan of my jaw being broken, even if it’s only a little bit. Thank you for not breaking my jaw again, that’s why I stopped going to the dentist for years in the first place.”

“I had not been to a dentist in more than a decade because of dental trauma at another place. I was terrified of going and terrified that I would be shamed for not coming in sooner with a broken tooth.

I could not have been made to feel more safe or welcome in the office by everyone. They were so calm, explaining every part of the appointment and Dr. Chi was efficient and kind.

The office is lovely, the explaination of costs was very clear and they gave me options for when to do procedures without pressure so that I could work the out of pocket costs into my budget. Very thankful to have found my new dentist!”
